About Me

Welcome. I'm Erin Stephens — a poet, author, educator, performer, and advocate who believes in the power of storytelling to transform pain into purpose.

My journey has been shaped by movement, creativity, and a deep desire to connect with others. With a background in dance performance and movement analysis, I have spent years exploring the relationship between the body, emotions, and the stories we carry. I earned my Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance Performance from the University of Wyoming, where I graduated with honors, and later became a Certified Laban Movement Analyst through Integrated Movement Studies.

Throughout my career as a professional dancer, choreographer, and educator, I have had the privilege of performing, teaching, and creating work across a variety of stages and communities. My performance credits include collaborations with companies such as Oquirrh Mountain Ballet and Serena Webb Dance Theater, where I performed in productions including The Nutcracker and the Mouse Queen, Sherlock Holmes, Vice, and Wuthering Heights.

Teaching has always been central to my work. From young dancers discovering their first steps to advanced students developing their artistry, I have taught ballet, modern, jazz, movement fundamentals, and creative movement throughout my career. I have also worked in education as an elementary teacher, experiences that strengthened my belief in the importance of encouragement, mentorship, and creating spaces where people feel seen.

My writing grew from the same place as my movement practice — a need to understand, process, and share the stories that shape us. My debut poetry collection, Confessions: Inside the Silence, explores themes of trauma, resilience, healing, identity, and reclaiming one's voice. Through poetry, I hope to create a place where readers feel understood and reminded that even the hardest chapters can become part of a story of strength.

Beyond writing and the arts, I am passionate about advocacy and serving others. I hold a Victim Advocate Certification and continue to use my experiences, education, and voice to support meaningful conversations around healing and resilience.

Whether through a poem, a performance, a classroom, or a conversation, my mission remains the same: to create connection, inspire courage, and remind others that their stories matter.

Thank you for being here. I hope you find something within these pages that speaks to your own journey.
